The Chairman stated that after interrogation, the woman confessed that she dumped the baby becuase she could no longer take care of him as none of her family members were ready to accommodate her with the baby. The suspect Mrs. Timilehin Adeshina (18yrs) said she was sent out with the baby by her mother to go and locate the man who impregnated her after she gave birth. “My mother sent me out because I gave birth and could not identify the man who impregnated me as different men slept with me” According to her she dropped out of school because of poverty while in JSS II at Lovely School, Ejigbo, Lagos.

She however hinted that while sleeping outside with her baby several men paid to engaged her with sex. The Chairman Lagos State Task Force SP Olayinka Egbeyemi confirmed that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police Mr Fatai Owoseni after well briefed about the incident , directed that both the rescued baby and his mother be immediately transfered to ‘Social Welfare’ Department of the Lagos State Ministry of Youths and Social Development.

How do I resume sex after years of abstaining?

Dear Bunmi,
My marriage broke up after nine years and I haven’t slept with any man since I got divorced three years ago. I’ve had offers of dates from men and I think this is the time to go on a proper date. My problem is that I’m frightened of having sex. The thought of stripping naked in front of someone other than my ex terrifies me. Do you have any advise on how to get my sex life back?

Linda, by e-mail. Dear Linda, The prospect of disrobing in front of a man terrifies you because you’re imagining yourself having to do it quickly – probably around date three (sex happening on the third date is one of the myths floating around out there along with all those other silly dating ‘rules’). Dropping your clothes to the floor to someone you barely know would make you feel very uncomfortable. Take your time and refu~e to be pressured into anything and when the time comes to strip, you might be shy mWYou won’t feel terrified. It’s obvious you’re not out for a fling but a relationship. Once you find someone you like, you have all the time in the world to explore sex gently and take little steps.

You should have sex when you feel ready – when you know, trust and feel comfortable enough to sleep with the person without being judged. Also remember that, unless you’re planning to date a 20-year-old, your new man’s body isn’t going to be perfect either. It seems to me your problem has nothing to do with what you look like, but with feeling naked emotionally. So if you’re still hurting, don’t push yourself until you’re well and truly ready.

My tears during sex has put him off

Dear Bunmi,
I recently lost a very dear friend and it made me really emotional. During this time, my boyfriend and I had sex, but during the whole thing, my emotional trauma overwhelmed me and I burst into tear.

My boyfriend looked a bit astonished but consoled me the best he could. Since that incident, he doesn’t seem to be interested in sex. When I tried to get him into bed, he tells me he’s not in the mood. Is there a way to bring back the loving feelings we once shared? Appoionia, by e-mail. Dear Appolonia, It’s one thing to cry out your man’s name in bed, but simply crying your eyes out during sex can be a bit scary for some men. A lot of men are cool about consoling you when you’ve had a bad day but are not sure of how to handle it when you cry like a baby during sex. Men are not that reliable at handling real emotional issues. Since your outburst, it seems your man is afraid that if you two get more intimate, the waterworks would be really turned on. Little wonder he’s off sex! It is understandable you’re feeling the way you do, since sex is a very emotional experience.

Explain to your man all-over again why you got that emotional and assure him it had little to do with the way he turned you on! Then find time to show him you’re capable of having carefree sex by engaging him in some no-holds-barred animal sex! Talk dirty if he likes you to, and instead of crying, give him gentle love bits you know would drive him crazy. Once he realizes that you can be as hot as before – or even hotter, his libido is bound to bounce back in no time.

My "wives" masturbation as affected my first daughter - Husband

A 44-year-old businessman, Ekpolador Ebi, told an FCT High Court, Kubwa, that he would no longer tolerate his wife’s masturbation. Ebi made this known when he testified in his divorce petition against his wife, Gloria Onajero, in Abuja on Wednesday.

He urged the court to end the marriage, which had produced two children because of his wife’s unfaithful and intolerable character. The petitioner questioned the paternity of his children, when he found out his wife’s extra-marital affair with one Richard. He also noted that his wife’s “ugly character” has had a negative impact on their children. “She masturbates on a regular basis. I have warned her severally but she wouldn’t stop. Now it has affected my first daughter. “I caught her on three occasions; I spoke to the mother about it and she promised that it would be resolved but it did not. “Now, I noticed since we separated, that the children have developed confidence issues in school. “My first daughter has also developed anger issues; she slams the door at you when you try to scold her. All these never used to be,” he testified.

Ebi also told the court that he ran away from his home because his wife and her mother frustrated all his good intentions. According to him, his wife also beats the children with so much force and without mercy and when he tried to caution her, her mother supports her. The petitioner urged the court to, aside dissolving the marriage; help him recover his property from his wife. “My wife came into this marriage with nothing, but when she left, she went away with everything I had. “She took all the original documents of my property, including our marriage certificate. “I want everything back, including my first daughters’ international passport which has a five-year-visa on it. “I also want this court to order her to stop calling me at odd hours. She calls me around 1 a.m, 2 a.m or 3 a.m for no good reason,” he said.

Mr Festus Ukpe, Counsel to the respondent, applied to the court to grant them two dates of adjournment to enable him and his client prepare their defence.
The presiding judge, Justice Bello Kawu, adjourned the matter till March 21 and  March 30.

We'll meet at ICC, IPOB replies Army

By Dennis Agbo
ENUGU—Following the Nigerian Army denial that it did not kill 11 members the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, during the group’s rally in support of US President, Donald Trump, on January 20, 2017, IPOB has asked the army to wait for them at the International Criminal Court, ICC, in The Hague.

IPOB also accused the army of alternating between calling its outing in Port Harcourt a “protest” and a “rally” at the same time. The group, therefore, said it was only a liar that could describe a rally as a protest, saying that “the Nigerian Army has been caught in another web of lies.” Deputy Director of Army Public Relations of 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt, Colonel Aminu Iliyasu, had in a statement denied killing of IPOB members and labelled the group as a “criminal gang.” But IPOB spokesmen, Mr Emma Nmezu, and Dr. Clifford Chukwuemeka Iroanya, in their reply to the Army, said it has become customary for the army to kill IPOB members and deny it. “This is not the first, neither is it going to be the last time that the Nigerian Army will kill our members and shamelessly come out to deny it.” IPOB gave a list of its members killed by the Army to include IPOB massacres in Onitsha, Aba, Port Harcourt, Nkpor, Asaba; Shiite massacres in Kaduna and Kano, among others.

Part of the IPOB statement read: “International human rights groups have consistently labelled the Nigerian Army as perennial liars incapable of ever telling the truth when it comes to their culpability in the mass execution of unarmed civilians. “IPOB and those who read the haphazardly written statements from Col. Aminu Iliyasu are left wondering how on the one hand he stated that IPOB conducted a rally in support of President Trump while on the other hand, he called it a protest. “IPOB will like to remind this quota-system Colonel that the General Abdulsalami Abubakar-written Nigerian Constitution which he referred to is very explicit on the responsibilities of the Nigerian Armed Forces (not just the Army alone), especially in Section-217(2) and this does not in any way stipulate using live ammunition on peaceful and unarmed civilians. “We will also like to remind Iliyasu that security agencies, media organizations, foreign embassies, and specifically, the Commissioner of Police in Rivers State were all informed ahead of time of the pro-Trump rally, through an official letter signed by the leadership of IPOB.

“This Colonel must understand that a rally or even a protest is not an armed rebellion that will warrant deployment of troops of 29 Battalion of Nigerian Army with a mandate to fire live bullets at peaceful and unarmed civilians. “May we ask why the same deployment of troops was not carried out on those who protested against President Trump in Abuja on the same date? “How come troops were not deployed to shoot and kill civilians during the recent “anti-Buhari” protest that was led by the likes of Charles Oputa a.k.a. Charlie Boy? Why must the Hausa-Fulani dominated Nigerian Army and Police regard every IPOB assembly or rally as an opportunity to embark upon some kind of mini Jihad designed to kill as many non-Muslims as possible? “IPOB is extremely pleased that what transpired that day was captured on pictures and videos as most of the unspeakable atrocities of the Nigerian Army and police are.

“On his insinuation, borne out of panic, that IPOB will post old videos and pictures from our archives in social media, we advise the Colonel not to worry but to leave the authentication of the evidence we have to the civilized panel of judges at the International Criminal Court, ICC.” “It is reassuring to observe that at least the lying Nigerian Army is aware that all their murderous outrage on January 20, 2017 were captured on video.”

Man, 55, seeks divorce over wife’s seizure of car key

Lagos – A 55-year-old businessman, Shola Akande, approached an Igando Customary Court in Lagos State on Wednesday seeking to end his 13-year-old marriage to his wife, Omolade, because she seized his car key. “My wife seized my car key; she was claiming I bought a car for a girlfriend.

“I begged her to give me my car key; she refused, her family intervened by pleading with her to release the car key to me but their plea fell on deaf ears,” he said. He said that his wife, Omolade, used to fight him a lot, adding that she had turned his clothes to rags as she used to tear them whenever she was fighting him. “My wife derived pleasure in tearing my clothes whenever she was fighting me, there was a day she tore my clothes in the presence of her father,” he said. The embittered husband also accused his wife of stealing his money all the time. “My wife stole my money in the house and also burgled my office where she stole all the money in my drawer,” he said.

Shola said that his wife always accused him of infidelity, saying; “anytime my wife sees me with any woman, she will be fighting and accusing me of dating them. “I am a businessman, I sell land, and both men and women come or call to buy land or building from me. “My wife once seized my phones after I received a call; when she thought I was talking to a woman,” he said. Akande told the court that his wife had no respect for him and even for her father. “My wife does not respect me nor her father, anytime her father invites her over to his place to settle our fight or advice her, she will not listen. “Due of her stubbornness, her father once advised me to seek dissolution of the marriage,” he said. He, therefore, begged the court to dissolve his 13 year-old marriage which had not produced any child, saying he did not love her anymore.

“Please terminate the marriage that had nothing to show for both now and the future,” he begged the court. However, Omolade, 45, said that she seized her husband’s car key because he refused to pay her the money he borrowed from her. But he had money to buy a car for a girl, she said. “I was not happy when I heard that my husband bought a car for a girl while he still owes me N220, 000. “If he pays me my money, I will release his key,” she said. Omolade, a businesswoman, accused her husband of always drinking to stupor, adding that whenever she scolded him, he would turn it to a fight. “My husband always comes home around 1:00 a.m., drunk and whenever I cautioned him, he fights me,” she said. She, however, denied stealing her husband’s money and lamented that he used to call her a barren woman. “My husband always calls me a barren woman but I had three children during the 13 years of our marriage, but they all died,” she said.

The respondent begged the court not to grant her husband’s wish that she still love him. The court president, Mr Adegboyega Omilola, ordered the respondent to release the petitioner’s car key within one hour. He later adjourned the case to April 4 for further hearing. (NAN)

I'll be Nigerian's President soon - Fayose

By Anthony Ogbonna
Ekiti state Governor and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governors Forum, Ayodele Fayose has said that he would soon become Nigeria’s Vice President and subsequently, the President of Nigeria.

Fayose made the statement during a live interview on African Independent Television, AIT on Tuesday. “I will be the vice president of Nigeria, even the President very soon,” he said. Speaking on the emergence of Senator Ali Modu Sheriff as the party’s legitimate chairman as ruled by the High Court that sat in Port Harcourt, Fayose said that those supporting the Senator are political nonentities

Adeleye Fayose

“Senator Ali Modu Sheriff is a general without soldiers not to talk of having a battalion. If he is sure of his stand and strength, let him go for a popularity contest with Senator Ahmed Markafi.” “Without any gain saying, ‎Markafi is high above Sheriff. Markafi has the state governors supporting him. The National Assembly caucus are backing Markafi. Former ministers, former governors, former members of the National Assembly are also in support of Markafi. “In quantity and quality of support, Markafi is shoulder high above Sheriff who is only deluding himself with the rent-a-crowd ‎politicians that he goes to town with. All the organs of the party, including the Board of Trustees, are firmly behind Markafi,” he said.

My salary as a lecturer was more than RCCG's income - Adeboye

By Olayinka Latona GENERAL Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, who presides over a global church with members in about 198 nations of the world, at the weekend, described his early years as the General Overseer of the mission as turbulent, saying the church’s total income then was about half of his salary as university lecturer

Ministering during a three-day special programme to end the church’s 40-day fasting and prayer period at the Redemption Camp, Kilometre 46, Lagos Ibadan Expressway, Pastor Adeboye shocked the worshippers when he declared that the church’s total income when he took over its leadership was less than his pay

Pastor Adeboye

His words: “When God called me into full time ministry, I must tell you the truth, I was afraid because things were rough. I knew poverty when I was young but I became a university teacher with the belief that my days of poverty were gone. “When God asked me to leave my job to become a full-time pastor, the total income of the church was less than my salary and we were to share it among some 39 people. ‘’I was really afraid but God gave me one promise. He said do not worry my son, I will be with you. If you are wondering why my case is different, it is because God told me that He will be with me and He has been faithful to His promise.” He also narrated some unpalatable experiences he had in repositioning the church. All parishes of mission, yesterday celebrated the end of the 40-day fasting and prayer which commenced on Wednesday, January 11, 2017

How forests can rescue Nigeria from recession – Expert

A retired professor in the Department of Agricultural Engineering, University of Ibadan, Emmanuel Lucas, says forests have the potentials to rescue Nigeria from economic recession. Lucas made the remark at the 39th annual conference of the Forestry Association of Nigeria (FAN) held in Ibadan with the theme “ Harnessing the Uniqueness of Forests for Sustainable Development in a Diversifying Economy.’’

He said if regulations were made that a well thought-out per cent of built –up lands be set aside for trees and flower production in urban areas, the favourable effects would impact on the economy. “Forests are finitely renewable and can supply raw materials for industries; there is no construction material that comes near wood in low energy requirements for exploitation, processing and installation. “While petroleum, cooking gas failed Nigeria, inflicted heavy environmental pollution on the country, forests can take over; it has little negative impact on the country’s environment,” he said. The FAN foundation member said the functions of trees were so vital that tree planting must be encouraged.. He urged governments and estate bodies to continue to patronise private entrepreneurs engaged in seedling raising. Also speaking, Gov. Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo state, represented by the Special Adviser on Agriculture, Prof. Adekunle Olatupo, said the theme was relevant, coming at a time when the country’s economy had declined due to reliance on oil.

Ajimobi noted that the development of non-timber forest produce would generate employment and boost the country’s GDP. He said forests had been identified as factors that could mitigate climate change, urging the Federal Government and other stakeholders to partner in harnessing forest potentials. Earlier, FAN National President, Prof. Labode Popoola, said forest resources were unique and interwoven with all other creatures of life. He expressed dissatisfaction that the resources had been misused and called for a positive change. “The city of Ibadan is everything to forestry in Nigeria as the FAN was founded in the city years ago,” Popoola said. Also speaking, the National Organising Committee Chairman, Dr Ayoola Akinwole, said the association was addressing major issues germane to Africa. “For our country to move forward there is need to diversify to other sources of revenue other than oil. “We brought researchers and scientists from West Africa to discuss the theme.

“ The conference proceedings have over 109 papers; they are rich enough to address all the major issues,” Akinwole said. The highlight of the event was the inauguration of the executive council of Oyo State chapter of FAN.

Cleric kills his own mother with axe

An Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Monday remanded one Oluwaseyi Okikioluwa, 54, for allegedly hacking his mother, Mrs Ayoola Dorcas, to death. The accused, who claimed to be a cleric and of no fixed address, was arraigned on a one-count charge of murder.

His plea was not taken by the court. The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Kofo Ariyo, ordered the remand of the accused pending receipt of legal advice from the state Director of Public Prosecution. The Prosecutor, Cpl. Hafsat Ajibode, had told the court that the accused committed the offence on Feb. 7, at about 6.00 p.m. at No. 2, Ade-Odofin Estate, Sangotedo, Lekki, Lagos. Ajibode said that the accused allegedly used an axe to hit the deceased on the head, leaving her in the pool of her own blood. She told the court that the accused fled the scene and was later arrested. The offence, she said, contravened Section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011, which stipulates a maximum of death sentence for offenders. The case was adjourned till March 30.

NIGERIA: Buhari is back

(President Muhammadu Buhari)

When I was born, Muhammadu Buhari was Nigeria’s president. Now, he is back!

I do not remember Muhammadu Buhari being the president of Nigeria. I was an infant when this happened, when I was barely aware of my own existence. Today, our nation is back to where we were 30 years ago and Buhari is back to save her.

Nigeria’s democracy under Alhaji Shehu Shagari was deeply plagued with corruption and the society was said to be failing from October 1st, 1979 till it ended on December 31st, 1983. On that early Saturday morning, the voice of Major General Muhammadu Buhari reportedly came alive on radio and televisions across Nigeria.

The new military government accused the Shagari administration of so many acts of mismanagement, corruption and societal sabotage. Like real life déjà vu, I have witnessed the mess of 1979 – 1983, which I only read about, played out massively in present day Nigeria. For the last 16 years, the erstwhile ruling party and its successive governments did take Nigeria down the dark abyss. Interestingly, the same man, Muhammadu Buhari who proclaimed that the military had “dutifully intervened to save [Nigeria] from imminent collapse” is now back to save Nigeria from the same situation.

Many have argued that had the Muhammadu Buhari administration not been truncated only 20 months later by another military general who went on to mismanage Nigeria for the next eight years, Nigeria would actually have been reformed. The Buhari military administration of only 20 months was known for the heavy reforms it instituted. Those reforms were swiftly abandoned once he himself was toppled from power.

From 1983 till 1985, he forced his way in to rid Nigeria of gross constitutional abuses by politicians, electoral frauds and violence, corruption, high cost of governance, huge internal and external debt and general insecurity. In his own words,

"This government will not tolerate kick-backs, inflation of contracts and over-invoicing of imports etc. Nor will it condone forgery, fraud, embezzlement, misuse and abuse of office and illegal dealings in foreign exchange and smuggling. Arson has been used to cover up fraudulent acts in public institutions. I am referring to the fire incidents that gutted the P&T buildings in Lagos, the Anambra State Broadcasting Corporation, the Republic Building at Marina, the Federal Ministry of Education, the Federal Capital Development Authority Accounts at Abuja and the NET Building. Most of these fire incidents occurred at a time when Nigerians were being apprehensive of the frequency of fraud scandals and the government incapacity to deal with them."

In 2015, Nigeria has seen it all - corruption is everywhere, oil theft is rampant, petroleum subsidy is a billion dollar scam, politicians maim and kill to win elections at all cost, public buildings have mysteriously caught fire, Boko Haram (like 1985 Maitasine) is terrorizing and killing Nigerians and, Nigerians have elected Muhammadu Buhari to change all that, but will he?

Only time will tell.

Crippled man beaten for wearing camouflage gets N500k from Ebonyi State Governor

Chijioke Oraku, the crippled man brutalized by soldiers for wearing a camouflage has received N500k from his state governor, David Umahi,  for his rehabilitation.
The man met with the governor who has demanded the immediate dismissal of the two soldiers who brutalized him.
The governor made the demand while receiving the victim, an indigene of the state, at the chambers of Government? House, Abakaliki, on Tuesday. Umahi said the 21-day imprisonment given to the soldiers was not enough.

“The governor said, “I want to thank the Governor of Anambra State for his quick intervention in this matter. I was very happy when he reacted immediately and rehabilitated the young man. I also want to commend the Chief of Army Staff for the disciplinary action so far taken against those two soldiers. I thank the people of Anambra and Ebonyi who followed up on this matter.

“But we are going to take a picture of him (Oruku) and send to the COAS to demand the sacking and prosecution of those soldiers who carried such unprofessional act.
“I believe that the army has to be disciplined in their conduct. We must insist that discipline is maintained in our society.
“If enough punishment is not meted on those two soldiers, they would still carry out the same act.”

Pastor Paul Adefarasin pays tribute to late gospel singer, Eric Arubayi

Senior Pastor of the House on the
Rock Church, Paul Adefarasin, has paid tribute to one his church's choristers and notable gospel artiste, Eric Arubayi, who passed away last week Saturday February 11th. Posting this photo on his Facebook page this evening, Pastor Adefarasin wrote
"It's been a week since we suffered the colossal loss of a greatly gifted son of House on the Rock, Eric Arubayi. Eric was a soul-stirring worshipper with an intense zeal for the Lord and though we do sorrow, we do not sorrow as those with no hope.
We will certainly see Eric with Jesus again. We celebrate the life he lived and the legacy he leaves behind. I'm convinced Eric is walking the streets of gold, singing with the angels, worshipping our one true King. We are warmly consoled by the fact that he is in a much better place with the other Saints of the gospel where no pain can reach him. Let us remember his lovely wife, Chinonso and their adorable son, Jayden in our prayers; that the Almighty God will grant them the grace to bear this loss. Dear Family, I urge you to remember that while this is not our home, our purpose here is to bring God's kingdom to Earth. May we never tire in this work of salvation. Eric, thank you for the gift you are to my family, to House on the Rock church and to the body of Christ; we would miss you greatly. Adieu to a noble Nigerian".
